Building a Better World – Inside and Out

11 September 2023Building a Better World – Inside and Out

The team at Krantz Designs would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us for our Snowdon Sunrise Charity Hike on Saturday 12th August. We spent 7 hours climbing 3,560ft up Mount Snowdon in the pouring rain, raising an impressive £2,500 for our charity of choice: EDAN Lincs (Ending Domestic Abuse Now).

The weather was damp, but spirits were high, and our climbers were spurred on by the knowledge that they were completing their climb for such a good cause. Check out the video on our Instagram page here

Creating safe spaces

We work tirelessly on a daily basis to create bespoke designs for beautiful interiors, but without domestic safety, a house can never feel like a home. EDAN Lincs is an excellent charity that gives support and help to anyone suffering from domestic abuse in Lincolnshire. They offer assistance in the form of accommodation, advice, and recovery support, providing immediate shelter and refuge for anyone fleeing an abusive environment.

Our team are working alongside EDAN’s incredible support workers to help to remodel and renovate some of the EDAN safehouses. The charity owns self-contained and multi-occupancy accommodation, specialist units, and dispersed safe houses across Lincolnshire, and our team’s focus is to ensure that these safe houses are calming and relaxing sanctuaries for the families and individuals staying there.

In creating more welcoming environments, we hope to enable those in need to start their healing journeys as successfully as possible.

Krantz’s charitable endeavours

Our most recent Charity Auction Night on 28th April 2023 raised £19,000 for EDAN Lincs and the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. We were completely overwhelmed by the support from our friends, family, suppliers, and clients. So many businesses donated to our raffle and it was a real privilege for us all to hear from one of our guests of honour – a survivor whose life was saved by the Air Ambulance.

From a 7 night Norwegian cruise to tickets to see Manchester United, the variety in prizes made for a very exciting auction! Among those listed was a party hosted at the Krantz Showroom, which raised £2500. With so much interest in the bidding war, we decided to offer up two more parties, raising £7,500 in total and boosting the total funds to over £19,000.

Thank you to Chloe Gels Photography for donating a night of photography and videography to capture our evening! View the full event video here

Our Managing Director, Jamie Krantz as the auctioneer for the evening – Suited him!

A further thanks go to Millicent Stephenson Sax, for starting the night with a bang! By Darren Rogan for the delicious canapés and Soul Collective Lincoln who kept the party going throughout the night! A special note for Tanya Taylor at LNAACT and Kris for being there on the evening, you were all amazing!

Our Charity Committee have organised many fundraisers in recent years, raising £2,300 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, and East Anglian Air Ambulance through various sponsored events. Our team also raised £1,800 for the YMCA in our last ‘Santa Fun Run’. We’re extremely proud to be able to add EDAN Lincs to the list of charities we’ve been able to support.

We encourage everyone to take a look at the wonderful work that all of these charities do, and to donate to their causes if possible.

Charity through sustainability

Sustainability is another cause close to our heart, and our charitable donations are further supplemented by funds raised through the donations we make to Rehome (formerly the Used Kitchen Exchange). Through Rehome, we sell old kitchens and ex display cabinets before we start the installation of a new Krantz kitchen. All profits are donated to EDAN, and we also get added peace of mind that perfectly good kitchens are not going to waste.

Charity work is important to us, but sourcing materials responsibly and managing our company ethically is integral to our daily processes. All of our timber comes from sustainable forests, and we plant a tree for every kitchen we sell.

What’s next?

Our commitment to creating exquisite interiors is matched by our dedication to societal well-being and community support. Over the last 5 years, we’ve been able to donate over £30,000 to multiple charitable initiatives. All of our clients can take pride in the fact that, by supporting our work to improve the interiors of their homes, they are also enabling our team to support positive changes in the outside world. In this way, we work to create spaces that are not just about luxury, but also about love, care, and the wider community.

If you’d like to stay up to date on our latest charitable endeavours, please follow us on social media @KrantzDesigns  and keep an eye on our website. Our charity committee is currently in the process of planning a sponsored Tough Mudder fundraiser, along with several other events.

Some members of the team have suggested that, based on our Snowdon hike success, we’re ready to head to Nepal and climb to Everest Base Camp. Will we do it? Only time will tell!

Our JustGiving link is still open if you’d like to retrospectively sponsor us for our hike. Any donations are gratefully appreciated!
