We’re thrilled to announce a significant accolade to round off a fantastic year of awards and recognition for the Krantz Designs team. Krantz was presented with the “Business for a Purpose” Award for charitable contributions and excellence in social responsibility at the Lincolnshire Enterprise Awards yesterday! This recognition is truly a testament to our deep-rooted ethos of giving back to the community, and we’re so proud of our team for all of their efforts.

A year of accolades for Krantz Designs

This year has been incredibly humbling for the Krantz Designs family. We won the prestigious Design et al International Design and Architecture Awards earlier this year, and we were nominated for ‘Kitchen Design of the Year’ at the KBBFocus Awards shortly afterwards.

Both of these awards recognised the quality of our designs and our commitment to creating stunning interiors. However, one of our main passions is giving back to the community, and so we’re especially proud to be rounding off the year with a third award – this time for our charitable contributions.

Our charitable endeavours

We’ve always been deeply committed to charitable activities, particularly focusing on issues that resonate with our core aim of improving houses. We work tirelessly to create bespoke designs for beautiful interiors, but without domestic safety, a house can never feel like a home. EDAN Lincs is an excellent charity that gives support to anyone suffering from domestic abuse in Lincolnshire. In August, we participated in a Snowdon Sunrise Charity Hike, where our team climbed 3,560ft up Mount Snowdon in challenging weather conditions. The efforts raised an impressive £2,400 for EDAN Lincs.

In collaboration with EDAN’s support workers, we are also helping remodel and renovate some of the charity’s safehouses across Lincolnshire. Given our expertise in bespoke interiors, our aim is to make these houses into calming sanctuaries, aiding in the healing journeys of those in need.

We also held a Charity Auction Night earlier this year, which raised £19,000 for EDAN Lincs and the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. Businesses and individuals were generous in their contributions, and prizes ranged from a 7-night Norwegian cruise to tickets to see Manchester United. We also auctioned off parties at the Krantz Showroom, which alone raised £7,500.

We also make significant contributions to other charitable organisations such as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, East Anglian Air Ambulance, and the YMCA through various sponsored events, such as our Christmas Santa Fun Run, organised by our Charity Committee.

Commitment to sustainability

On the sustainability front, we work with Rehome to sell old Krantz kitchens and ex-display cabinets. All profits from these sales are donated to EDAN Lincs.

We’ve purchased another building across the road from our current premises at Lincoln’s Enterprise Park, so our workshop will soon be expanding. We’ll also be working towards searching for London premises, as we plan to open our second Krantz Showroom within the next two years.

One of our primary areas of focus in this regard is sustainability. In fact, opening up our London Showroom will align with these efforts, as our logistics will be improved. All of our materials are currently sourced within the UK, and having a base in London will mean that we reduce emissions and transportation costs exponentially.

Fuel usage will also be reduced by our new workshop, as any spare wood or combustible material remaining after a project has been finished will be used to heat our buildings. We currently use no plastic packaging, we use wood from sustainable forests, and we plant a tree for every kitchen we complete. These sustainable efforts will continue as our production increases.

What’s next?

We’d like to express our sincere thanks to the judges for selecting us for this award.

This incredible accolade has spurred on our Charity Committee to continue the fantastic work they do! Looking ahead, we’re planning more fundraising activities, including a sponsored Tough Mudder event. Building on the success of our Snowdon hike, some of our team members are even contemplating a trek to Everest Base Camp!

Our core focus is and always will be to build a legacy of design excellence, community support, and environmental stewardship. Winning the “Business for a Purpose” award is not just a great honour; it’s a reinforcement of our commitment to these values. As we continue to innovate and expand, our hearts remain firmly set on improving lives – one kitchen, one home, and one community at a time.
