Maria’s Journey

Maria began working for Krantz almost 9 years ago. After finishing her architecture degree at Northumbria University, she applied for a role as a Junior Designer in 2015. Since then, she has worked her way through the ranks to Senior Designer, Senior Design Manager, and now Partner and Creative Director. This swift progression is a testament to her incredible design skills and the immense pride she takes in her work.

In a professional capacity, Maria is one of the leading interior designers in her field, having won national and international awards for the projects she has worked on. She’s an expert in kitchen design, and many companies and competitors look to her work as a model for what excellence in design should look like.

The reputation she has made for herself in the interior design industry is truly miraculous for someone of such a young age, so we’re exceptionally proud and pleased that she’s gaining the recognition she deserves.

Recent Milestones for Krantz Designs

Krantz Designs has reached several significant milestones since Maria became a Partner in 2020. Over the past 4 years, she has led the team – alongside Managing Director Jamie Krantz – to achieve international recognition and new heights in design innovation. We’ve also diversified our offerings to include not only kitchens, but also bespoke cabinetry solutions for other parts of the home.

Later this year, Krantz Designs will be opening up a new workshop, with plans to launch a London showroom in 2025. Maria’s influence in driving the business forward, leading projects, mentoring junior designers, and shaping our creative direction has been instrumental to these successes.

Everything we do at Krantz Designs revolves around two core missions: to create stunning, handcrafted kitchens and interiors, and to provide an exemplary customer service experience for each client. All of our designers are trained to ensure that they do all they can to improve our clients’ lives, and Maria sets the standard for our approach. The rapport she builds with clients underscores everything, and she works closely with them to create and manage the installation of truly groundbreaking designs that are tailored entirely to their personal use.

Pioneering projects and accolades

While we specialise in bespoke kitchens, over the last year we’ve taken on a lot more projects that incorporate multiple rooms or entire houses. These large-scale commissions allow us to truly push the boundaries of design innovation, so much so that we have recently been internationally recognised by the Design Et Al 2023 Architecture & Design Awards, which seek to award and promote the best in global architecture and design talent.

Maria acted as Design Director alongside Design Manager, Jessica Sroga for our Stamford Project, which won the Design Et Al award for the “Best Kitchen Design Over £100,000”. This award acknowledges bespoke designs that are not only aesthetically appealing and functionally innovative, but also responsive to the unique needs of the client that the kitchen was made for.

As Design Director, Maria provided the vision behind the designs and managed the team to completion. This award was a real testament to Maria’s vision and the entire team’s execution under her guidance. With renowned designers from all over the world showcasing their creativity and their innovations, this was a huge (and well deserved) accolade for Maria and the team to attain.

Closer to home, Krantz Designs was presented with the “Business for a Purpose” Award for charitable contributions and excellence in social responsibility at the Lincolnshire Enterprise Awards. Maria is an active contributor in the Krantz Designs Charity Committee, and has organised many events over the years that have raised thousands of pounds for good causes.

Championing equality in design

Maria’s recognition in Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35 list is a well-deserved honour that highlights her exceptional commitment to excellence and design innovation. This accolade, however, is not just a milestone for Maria, but also a proud moment for the Krantz team as a whole.

The awards additionally serve to celebrate the progress being made towards a more diverse and equitable business environment for women within our industry. Our design team is entirely female-led, and so we couldn’t be more proud of the fact that Maria has significantly contributed to this positive change.
