After 15 years of building bespoke kitchens and cabinetry, Krantz have created some amazing commissions. None of this would be possible without an exceptional team of designers and some of the country’s very best carpenters.
Jamie has owned his own company since the age of 21, training as a joiner and enjoying wood turning as a hobby.
He loves working with his team at Krantz Designs, knowing he’s got the best of the best in the industry, as well as meeting with clients and enjoying seeing their faces light up when they see the amazing rooms we’ve created for them.
With his discerning eye, Jamie cites pippy oak as his favourite material, for its marking and detail, with Farrow & Ball’s Railings his favourite colour.
Outside work, he’s an adrenaline junkie, a motorbike fanatic and a sucker for a fast car, skiing and scuba diving, and on a more sedate note he also enjoys a round or two of golf.
Maria loves a good cocktail at the weekends, especially a smooth espresso martini. Which is why she particularly enjoys creating and developing our very own Krantz Designs bespoke bars, bringing handcrafted, premium furniture into clients’ homes. Her very favourite room to design, though, is a dressing room – conceiving highly personal, beautiful spaces designed purely for pampering.
Colour is always a big feature in Maria’s designs. She loves the Farrow & Ball range, for its natural ability to change appearance under different lights, and is currently a huge fan of its Studio Green, with its rich pigments and dramatic yet soothing qualities.
When she’s not at work, she’s still putting her BA (Hons) in Architecture to good use, renovating her home, and she enjoys getting out into the great outdoors, camping and exercising.
Rachel loves a challenge, and seeing a space for the first time she enjoys creating a beautifully designed kitchen that fits perfectly and exceeds clients’ expectations. In fact, the more challenging the space, the better as far as she’s concerned.
Being creative doesn’t start and end at work, though. At home, she loves to draw and paint, playing with textiles to come up with new ideas for fabric and colour combinations. The rich blue black Railings and the deep dark Studio Green are her top Farrow and Ball colours, both creating a strikingly beautiful finish.
Rachel also likes to use her creative streak in her own kitchen, turning her talents to cooking and baking. She also loves to watch live music, and spend time with her friends and family.
Jessica loves to be organised. In fact, getting up early and going to the gym is one of her favourite things to do, starting her day with energy and zest. She brings this philosophy to her work, blending her highly practical organisational skills with creativity and vision.
She loves the clean lines and symmetry of contemporary designs, mixing materials and exposed wood to create flawlessly original furniture concepts. Her BA (Hons) in Fine Art has given her a love for the unconventional and contrast – her favourite Farrow & Ball colours are the dramatic blue black Railings and the rich, cosy India Yellow.
Abstract art is one of her favourite pastimes, and she also enjoys travelling – a city break to Milan is always top of her list.
Bringing a room to life through beautiful design is what drives Lydia in her work. She loves to socialise, so creating spaces for friends and family to gather are her favourite projects. For her, it’s all about getting the atmosphere perfect for each room, instilling the right energy and emotion for the desired end result.
It’s why her favourite colour is Farrow & Ball Breakfast Room Green, a calming and soulful shade that offers the perfect peaceful start to the day. Her BA (Hons) in Fashion Design means she has a discerning eye for detail and intuitive knowledge of what good looks like.
She loves space of all kinds, so is often found outdoors in her spare time, hiking and mountain biking, or extending her skills into furniture restoration.
Make Roberto a nice cup of tea (milk, no sugar) and offer him a biscuit and he’s happy. But he believes the best tea is made in one of our beautiful, handcrafted kitchens, so he’s also happy to turn his extensive skills to that first.
With over 20 years’ experience, Roberto joined Krantz Designs in 2011, bringing with him a keen eye for detail and meticulous approach to every project.
A keen sports fan, he’s an avid Nottingham Forest supporter, and previously played cricket for Balderton CC.
Dave was one of Krantz’s first-ever employees and we’re so glad he’s still on board! He always has a smile on his face and he’s the real joker of the group, making every project he works on fun for all his colleagues.
That’s not to say he isn’t a true professional. He’s a highly skilled builder and plasterer, even teaching plastering at his local college. So as well as bringing a smile to every job, he brings top talent and technique, too.
You’ll often hear Dave singing as he works, not always in tune and not always well, but let’s just say he makes every tune his own. He’s also a big fan of golf and football.
The beauty of a Krantz kitchen is that each one is unique. And for Jordan, that’s a huge part of his job satisfaction. He loves the variety and creativity involved in producing our highly bespoke installations, knowing when he comes into work that no two jobs are ever the same.
His preferred material to work with is walnut, for its ease of carving, ability to keep its shape and its durability. Meanwhile, Farrow and Ball Stiffkey Navy is his choice of colour, a deep inky blue with a dramatic finish.
Outside work, he likes to enjoy the peace of fishing, the noise of football, and something of both with his family.
With a background in heritage carpentry at none other than Lincoln Cathedral, Paul brings a flair for quality and precision to his work at Krantz Designs. Multi-talented, he’s also a qualified sprayer and polisher, and cabinet maker, and ran his own heritage carpentry and joinery business before coming to work with us.
For Paul, it’s all about paying attention to the finer details, paying meticulous care to every single detail – never happy with simply doing a ‘good’ job, he makes sure every kitchen is a Krantz kitchen. He enjoys working with all kinds of materials, finding the right blend to create the ultimate end result.
While his work might be all about the indoors, his spare time is all about the great outdoors, with wild camping and survival top of his hobby list.
Transforming a space from a state of disarray to a place fit for royalty is Chris’s favourite part of his job. He takes great pride looking at a before and after picture of a luxury kitchen he’s worked on, seeing the difference it will make to the owners’ lives.
As a highly qualified carpenter and joiner, he knows how to get the best from every type of material, but the one he enjoys using the most is Old English Oak, for the difference in grains, the unique smell when it’s cut, and its sheer strength.
When he’s not crafting kitchens he’s out on the golf course, carp fishing, coaching his son’s football team or relaxing at home with his family.
Stuart is such a fan of his job that he likes to take it home with him, spending his spare time doing up his house. He’s even built his own bar, so he can relax with a properly mixed drink at the end of a busy day.
For Stuart, his work is not about clocking in and out each day, but about giving 100 percent to every project. He loves working with our expert team, and is proud of our spectacular end products, saying ‘It’s great pleasing the clients.’ He particularly likes to work with walnut and loves the Shaker style kitchens.
When he’s not demonstrating his carpentry skills, you’ll find Stuart on the stands watching football, his other great passion in life.
Crafting and creating the finest furniture is Roger’s passion, as he brings his practised eye to our bespoke products. A stickler for quality and detail, he cites customer satisfaction as the highlight of his work, knowing that the finished design is just what they’ve been looking for, and often more.
He particularly loves working with oak, with its distinctive look, attractive colour and strength and durability.
In his free time, Roger like to spend time with his family, walking his dog, cycling or listening to music.
